Kerala Global Summit 2025 Attracts ₹1.53 Lakh Crore Investment from 374 Companies

The Invest Kerala Global Summit 2025, held in Kochi on February 21-22, attracted investment proposals totaling ₹1.53 lakh crore from 374 companies. These expressions of interest (EoIs) encompass plans for establishing new ventures, expanding existing operations, diversifying businesses, and reinvesting within the state.

Notably, 24 IT firms have proposed expansions amounting to approximately ₹8,500 crore, which are expected to generate around 60,000 additional jobs. Furthermore, 66 companies have submitted EoIs for investments exceeding ₹500 crore each.

The summit witnessed participation from over 5,000 delegates, including political leaders across party lines and Union ministers, signaling a unified effort to position Kerala as a prime investment destination. Industries Minister P. Rajeeve emphasized this collective commitment, stating that the event sends out the message of a “united Kerala” irrespective of political and ideological differences.

To facilitate the swift realization of these investment proposals, the Kerala government plans to establish a special committee to draft new guidelines for plantation land use and a minister-level committee to grant exemptions from land rules. Additionally, a fast-track mechanism, including a dedicated dashboard, will be implemented to monitor and expedite the progress of these EoIs.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, during the summit’s inauguration, highlighted Kerala’s significant strides in the startup sector. Over the past eight years, the state has seen the establishment of 6,200 startups with an investment of ₹5,800 crore, creating 62,000 employment opportunities. Looking ahead, the government aims to increase this to 15,000 startups and generate one lakh jobs by 2026.

The Invest Kerala Global Summit 2025 showcased the state’s commitment to fostering an investor-friendly environment and its readiness to collaborate across political and ideological lines to drive economic growth and development.
