Over 50pc women among 30.68 cr workers listed for benefits on e-Shram portal. Ministry of Labour and Employment launched the e- Shram on October 21, 2024. 13 schemes of different Central Ministries/ Departments have already been integrated with the e Shram. The e- shram portal is meant to register and support the unorganised workers by providing them a Universal Account Number (UAN) on a self-declaration basis. It is also integrated with National Career Service (NCS) and Skill India Digital Portal to provide employment and skilling opportunities. The Ministry launched e-shram portal (eshram.gov.in) on August 26, 2021 for creation of a comprehensive National Database of Unorganised Workers (NDUW) seeded with Aadhar. The portal is available in 22 Indian languages, improving accessibility and promoting inclusivity for all, the minister said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha on Monday. It also provides real-time access to welfare schemes integrated with e-SHram, significantly improving convenience and convenience.
