Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the President of Mauritius, Dharam Gokhool, on Tuesday. He presented him with Gangajal from Maha Kumbh. Modi also gifted Makhana, a super food from Bihar, to Mauritius President. Modi reached Mauritius early Tuesday for a two-day state visit. He laid a wreath at the concrete ‘Samadhi’ of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam. This is PM Modi’s first visit to Mauritian since 2015. The prime minister will attend the State lunch on Wednesday. He was welcomed at the airport upon arrival by Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolsam. The two leaders also planted a sapling at Sir SeEWoosageur Ram goolam Botanical Garden. The meeting shows the strong relationship of India and Mauritius,\” ministry of external Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said. \”This shows a strong relationship between the two countries,\” he added.
