Rekha Gupta had her first official meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi after assuming charge. The newly sworn-in chief minister took to X to share more information about their meet. In the recently concluded Delhi election, BJP secured 48 seats in the 70-member Assembly, dethroning Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which had been in power for a decade. The Delhi Cabinet, in its first meeting, approved the rollout of the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme, deliberated on the Mahila Samriddhi Yojna, and agreed to present 14 pending CAG reports in the upcoming Assembly session. Addressing the media for the first time as chief minister, Rekha Gupta criticised the previous AAP government for not implementing Ayushmen Bharat, depriving residents of essential healthcare benefits. She said: “The previous government had stalled the AyUSHman Bharats scheme in Delhi. Prime Minister Modi implemented it across the country, and now we have approved it for Delhi,” she said.
