The deceased was identified as Resi, and the accused is Reghu. She was killed with a brick at around 3:30 am. Sources said there was a family dispute between the mother and the son. Infuriated over his action, neighbours thrashed ReghU badly, and he is undergoing treatment at Kottathara govt tribal hospital. Police recorded his arrest. People said he was suffering from mental health issues. The incident took place at Pudur in Attapadi, Palakkad, on Sunday morning.
