The work on the new building, which will come up at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore, began four months ago. The college was sanctioned in 2013 and started a year later in the old building of Nellikatte Government Primary School. Currently, even with a lack of infrastructure, the college has a total of 528 admissions in its two courses, BA and B.Com. If the permanent structure is built, the numbers are likely to increase. A total of 13 classrooms will be built along with a staff room, principal room, and others. The govt has allocated Rs 1 crore exclusively to have a women’s lounge on the campus, which is like a women’s restroom. The initial cost of the project was Rs 4.43 crore, with a land allocation of 1.53 acres of land in Boluvar, Puttur. The foundation is complete, and the walls are in progress, the Principal of the college, Gopalkrishna K, said that the foundation stone was laid before the state assembly polls in 2023.
