Kangana Ranaut has voiced her opposition to the way Indian joint families are depicted in Sanya Malhotra’s new film Mrs. The actress took to her Instagram stories to share her thoughts on the matter. Kangana said marriage should not be about seeking external validation or attention, but about fulfilling the greater purpose of duty (Dharma) She also took aim at modern societal trends, urging people not to endorse divorce or to dismantle traditional social institutions. Mrs is an official remake of the Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen and is directed by Arati Kadav. The movie follows the story of Richa, a newlywed dancer who struggles to navigate the restrictive patriarchal structures of a traditional Indian joint family while dealing with the challenges of an arranged marriage. The film also features an impressive ensemble cast including Kanwaljit Singh, Nishant Dahiya, Aparna Ghoyal, Viraj Mundkar, Varunola and Varun.
