Phalguna Purnima marks the last full moon day of the Hindu lunar calendar. The auspicious day is known for its association with Holi, one of the most widely celebrated Hindu festivals. It is also observed as Lakshmi Jayanti, commemorating the birth of Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth and prosperity. This day also marks the birth anniversary of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, a revered saint and the proponent of Gaudiya Vaishnavism. Offering food, clothes, and donations to the needy is considered highly meritorious on this day. Fasting: Devotees observe a full-day fast, breaking it only after sighting the full moon. Puja Vidhi and Remedies: Special prayers and recitations from the Satya Narayana Katha are performed for blessings of prosperity and happiness. The rituals resemble Holika Dahan, but the legend is centered around Lord Shiva burning Kamadeva, the god of love, to ashes.
