The San Diego Padres have been linked to Dylan Cease. The right-hander has expressed his desire to stay part of the team. The 29-year-old posted a 14-11 record with a 3.47 ERA last season. He punched 224 strikeouts over 189.1 innings. The $14 million salary offered to Cease in 2025 makes him a valuable asset, if the Padres receive any enticing offer, they might consider moving him. As for now, Cease is a part of Padre and is committed to helping the team win. The possibility of the trade still lingers. With the spring training underway, the Padres now appear all set for entering the season with their solid starting five. Pivetta, King, Ceases, and Yu Darvish are locked in the rotation, while the competition for the 5th spot is still ongoing. The Padres are currently in the middle of their off-season preparations for the 2015 season, which begins on March 31. The team is currently in Arizona for the start of their spring training camp.
